She's the First

What is She's the First?

Our vision is a world where every girl chooses her own future. All over the world, girls are treated as second to the boys. That’s why we put girls first.
Too often, girls are denied an education, told who and when to marry, and blocked from leadership. Educated and respected girls are the exception, not the norm.

How can I get involved?

In school? Join high school and college students fighting for global education equality and girls’ rights worldwide. The STF Campus Community advocates for all girls to be educated, respected, and heard. Develop your leadership skills, engage with like-minded members, and become informed changemakers alongside your peers.

Use your voice to make the world a better place for girls, with the Global Girls’ Bill of Rights. She’s the First is a proud co-organizer of the Global Girls’ Bill of Rights, which supports the rights that all girls deserve to experience. The declaration was presented to the United Nations on the 2019 International Day of the Girl, reaching over 150M people worldwide that year. Whether you want to amplify the Global Girls’ Bill of Rights online or organize a group of girls in your community, we’ve put together toolkits and resources to help you best use your voice.

SAGE

What is SAGE?

SAGE is the world’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ elders. SAGEServes is a semi-autonomous division of SAGE that enables an even more inclusive community-focused approach and increases SAGE’s capacity to achieve greater impact. SAGEServes creates ever-growing opportunities to serve our community’s older people and support their unique needs. Spurred by the Stonewall uprising 40 years ago, SAGE was created by loving, caring activists in order to serve our pioneers. These are the roots from which we continue to grow.

How can I get involved?

SAGE’s Action Squad is a community of bold individuals energized and ready for change.
Members of this ever-growing group are notified of breaking news and alerted to pivotal moments when your action is most needed. We will provide tangible steps for moving your local community and our country toward greater justice. Steps like:

  • Sending a letter to your representatives or calling to share why legislation matters to you
  • Joining a training to learn how to leverage the power of your personal story for a positive impact
  • Attending an event or webinar to become more informed

We are committed to continuing the legacy that our LGBTQ+ pioneers ignited by raising our voices and taking meaningful action. From the spark at Stonewall that started it all, our elders remain at the forefront of demanding equal treatment and opportunity. Help us take the journey one step further. Join the Action Squad.
